Nokia’s target? The entry-level smartphone market segment with the latest Nokia 2.2

The New Nokia 2.2

Nokia 2.2 is confirmed and official. This model will attempt to penetrate the entry-level android market, with an estimated price tag of USD100 (roughly around P5000-6000). The device showcased a very decent specification; it comes with 5.7 inches IPS panel display with HD+ screen resolution, with a dewdrop notch equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera. In contrast, the Rear camera is 13 megapixels plus a built-in LED flash.

The chipset is Helio A22 Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and has an option of 2GB or 3GB RAM. Internal storage capacity will be in 16GB and 32GB variants with expandable microSD capacity up to 400GB. The battery is 3000 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion; with this capacity, it usually can last up to 8-10 hours of heavy usage. OS is Android Pie 9.0 with an assurance of Android Q update in the future.

This will be a good move for Nokia to increase visibility in the entry-level smartphone segment. It will be challenging to get a volume market share now due to stiff competition, but it will be beneficial in the long run once (Nokia) get their sweet spot in the said category.
