Nokia’s target? The entry-level smartphone market segment with the latest Nokia 2.2

The New Nokia 2.2

Nokia 2.2 is confirmed and official. This model will attempt to penetrate the entry level android market, with an estimated price tag of USD100 (roughly around P5000-6000). The device showcased a very descent specification, it comes with 5.7 inches IPS panel display with HD+ screen resolution, with a dewdrop notch equipped with 5 megapixel front camera while the Rear camera is 13 megapixel plus a built-in LED flash.

The chipset is Helio A22 Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and an option of 2GB or 3GB RAM. Internal storage capacity will be in 16GB and 32GB variants with expandable microSD capacity up to 400GB. Battery is 3000 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion, with this capacity, normally it can last up to 8-10 hours of heavy usage. OS is Android Pie 9.0 with assurance of Android Q update in the future.

This will be a good move for Nokia, to increase visibility in the entry-level smartphone segment. It will be challenging to get volume market share now due to stiff competition, but it will be beneficial in the long run once (Nokia) they get their own sweet-spot in the said category.
